Another fun compilation of television appearances, video logs and speeches from the clairvoyant Peter Schiff. The grassroots campaign to “draft” him into running for U.S. Senator of Connecticut, gains momentum all the time. I’d love to see Schiff and Fed Chair Ben Bernanke go at it in a debate.
And whose Senate seat would Schiff be taking: none other than Chris Dodd’s, the Chairman of the Senate Banking Committee and taker of VIP mortgage treatment from Countrywide.
A Schiff for Dodd trade would be likened to Pau Gasol for Kwame Brown. The Los Angeles Lakers have made two appearances to the NBA Finals since that adept move, and lifted the Larry O’Brien trophy last night, defeating the Orlando Magic 4 games to 1. Schiff would provide the necessary punch to a depleted, incohesive unit of representatives. With his scoring ability on the perimeter, the government could begin playing a Zen-like, inside/outside game predicated on ball movement. If nothing else, they should play his videos in pre-meeting warm-ups.

It needs to be mentioned that the Kwame Brown for Pau Gasol deal was obviously an inside job. Former Laker great and NBA symbol, Jerry West, was the general manager of the Grizzilies and was about to retire. I guess he thought he could simultaneously help his old team while crippling his current team right before he retired thus making everyone realize how important he was to Memphis. Furthermore, the trade was long before the deadline and several other teams mentioned they would have been willing to give more. There was obviously something going on here. As far as I’m concerned the trade was completely illegitimate, West should be indicted, and the Lakers championship should be removed from the history books.
